APA Releases Build a Better Home® Moisture Control VideoBuild A Better Home

APA – The Engineered Wood Association has just released a new training video entitled: Moisture Control in Residential Construction. The tape is the latest training tool in APA’s Build a Better Home® educational outreach program aimed at improving the durability of our homes by following a coordinated path of moisture resistant construction. The 25-minute tape is divided into sections on moisture sources and moisture control techniques for foundations, walls and roofs designed to avoid moisture damage such as mold, mildew and decay.

"The video was taped as we built the demonstration house in Madison, WI with our partners, the Southern Pine Council and Advanced Housing Research Center USDA Forest Products Laboratory," said APA producer Kevin Hayes. "Builders are hard-pressed for training material and we think that this video, in conjunction with other Build a Better Home® materials, will make a significant difference in reducing callbacks and reinforce the building envelope against moisture intrusion." The APA Build a Better Home® program consists of detailed brochures on foundation, wall and roof construction techniques, a research and demonstration house built in Madison, WI to test moisture intrusion in the building envelope, a dedicated web site and training seminars.
